At the heart of Central Queensland lies the Memorial Park Pump Track, a landmark project for the Gladstone Regional Council that pushed the boundaries of innovation and engineering. Upon its completion, it claimed the title of Australia’s largest asphalt pump track. It garnered the prestigious ‘Best Play Space Over $500,000’ award at the Parks and Leisure Association Queensland State Awards in April 2017. This sprawling masterpiece, covering a total area of 5,000m2 with 1,000m2 of smooth asphalt, stands as a testament to our commitment to excellence and community engagement.
Our role spanned the full spectrum of construction responsibilities, navigating challenges from contaminated soil management to the intricacies of stormwater and electrical installation. Under the vigilant guidance of our in-house Civil RPEQ Engineer, we orchestrated a symphony of over 20 subcontracting teams, channelling their collective energies towards a singular vision. This thorough coordination and our deep-rooted expertise in forward planning and design ensured the project’s triumphant completion within a tight 6-week schedule, on budget, and to universal acclaim. The Memorial Park Pump Track is more than a recreational space; it’s a beacon of collaborative achievement and a pioneer among Australia’s play spaces.
