About the role
World Trail specialises in the design and construction of asphalt pump tracks, delivering world-class bike facilities all around the country. We are currently seeking pump track shapers to join the pump track construction team.
Pump track shapers are the true craftsmen/women of pump track construction. In this role you will use a variety of manual and powered hand tools to achieve the desired shape and finish of our pump tracks.
This role can open the door to a rewarding long-term career in machine operation, construction or management, but mostly it is a great opportunity to get paid creating and riding the world’s best bike facilities.
Duties
- Use a variety of manual tools (shovels, rakes, rake hoes, etc.), power tools (drills, saws, etc) and small machinery (plate compactors, etc.) to construct pump tracks.
- Perform construction tasks as directed and work effectively as a member of a team.
- Apply attention to detail to ensure construction is undertaken to required standard.
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools to a professional standard.
- Test riding to ensure the track and features perform as intended.
- Adhere to all work health and safety procedures and protocols, and actively promote a safe work environment.
- Ensure all environmental protection conditions are appropriately met.
- Always maintain the staff code of conduct.
Role Requirements
Mandatory
- Enthusiasm for and understanding of the sport and culture of mountain biking or BMX.
- Hold (or obtain prior to work) a current Construction Induction White Card.
- Ability to relocate to project areas for duration of each project (World Trail provides relocation assistance).
- Willing to live in share house accommodation with other World Trail employees.
Desirable
- Trade qualification or experience in landscaping, construction, civil industry or similar.
- Experience in construction of pump tracks or mountain bike trails.
- Experience in the operation of machinery, such as excavators, plate compactors, power carriers etc.
- Hold a current first aid certificate.
- Hold an unrestricted driver’s licence.
Location
The position will be based on various Pump Track project locations generally across the east coast of Australia and Tasmania.
