About the role

In this role, you will lead the planning and management of trail and bike park construction projects. The diverse role involves working with design teams, developing project documents, managing resources, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will combine strong civil engineering and project management skills with a background or keen interest in mountain biking.

Geelong, VIC; or Cairns, QLD.

Note that the role requires flexibility to travel to site locations for extended periods of time, particularly during the initial stages of projects.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Site Management – Effectively coordinate teams and oversee construction projects ensuring adherence to all processes and procedures.
  • Construction Documentation – Development of detailed construction plans and other project documentation.
  • Project Management – Effectively manage projects from inception to completion, within scope, time, and budget constraints.
  • Design – Development of engineering design plans with the assistance of the design team throughout the design phases of each project.
  • Consulting – Provide consulting services for outputs such as design reports, technical specifications, trail audits, asset mapping and inspection test plans.
  • Fieldwork – Undertake fieldwork associated with consulting, planning, design and construction projects as well as assisting with technical site inspections and auditing.
  • Stakeholder Management – Engage with clients and the broader community professionally and efficiently across a range of forums and scenarios.
  • Tender Writing – Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and quotes.
  • Technical Support – Provide technical and operational support to other team members as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing civil construction projects at a senior level, preferably with some experience delivering trail and/or park and recreation infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and frameworks (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
  • Exceptional organisational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • RPEQ or Chartered status highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Pump Track or Skate Park design and construction desirable.
